Men’s Track and Field Competes at NAC Championship

WESTON, Mass. — The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's track and field team competed at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Track and Field championship hosted at Regis College on Saturday and Sunday. The Great Northeast Atlantic Conference (GNAC) and New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) also participated in the multi-conference championship event. The Badgers came in 6th place in the NAC and tied for 15th place in inter-conference standings.

Randy Willette (Wolfeboro, N.H.) led the Badgers with his fourth-place finish in men's javelin. Willette's 41.76 meter throw earned four points for the Badgers. Willete capped off his weekend with a 12th place finish in men's discus (25.27m) and 16th place finish in men's long jump (4.77m).

Ryan Willette (Wolfeboro, N.H.) cracked the top 10 with a ninth place finish in men's triple jump, recording a distance of 11.90 meters. Willette finished 10th in men's long jump with a 5.60 meter distance and followed with a 12th place finish in the high jump (1.65m).

Sophomore Sheldon Billings (Ossipee, N.H.) rounded out the day for the Badgers by finishing 14th in the 800 meter run, completing the event in 2:25.35.
