Chargers Roll Past Badgers

NEW LONDON, N.H.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's volleyball team was defeated by the Colby Sawyer College Chargers, 3-0, in a non-conference match on Wednesday evening.

The Chargers won by scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-16. The Badgers were led by Wyatt Moberg (Acton, MA) and Jesse Streeter (Richmond, Vt.) as they recorded four kills apiece. Moberg also had with seven digs, five digs and earned a block. Sophomore Ryan Willette (Wolfeboro, N.H.) led the Badgers with eight digs to go along with three kills and an ace.

Over the course of the first set the Badgers led 15-13 and forced a Charger timeout. The Chargers came out of the timeout strong and controlled the remainder of the set winning 25-19. In the second set the Chargers jumped out to a big 12-6 lead after the first few points went back and forth between the two teams. After gaining the lead the Chargers were in control and capped off the second set with a 25-12 win over the Badgers. 

The Badgers were held to .019 hitting percentage and struggled throughout the third set as they fell 25-16.

The Badgers head to Nichols College on Saturday, March 16 for a non-conference tri match starting at 2:00pm. The Badgers will face Nichols College and Lesley University.
