FRANKLIN, MA.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's volleyball team earned their first victory of the 2020 season on the road against Dean College on Friday afternoon. The Badgers routed Dean by a score of 3-1.
Northern Vermont-Johnson erased an early one set deficit and the visiting Badgers won the final three sets with relative ease enroute to a 3-1 win over Dean College in non-league men's volleyball action on Friday afternoon. The Badgers fell in the first set by a score of 25-21 but regained their composure closing out the next three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-15.
The Badgers had strong performances by Dominic Phelps and Ryan Willette. Phelps led all players with eight kills, while Willette added five kills, six digs and four service aces. Jason Madrid added 14 assists for the Badgers and was strong defensively adding three digs.
With the win the Badgers improve to 1-3 on the season and will face Eastern Nazarene and Mt. St. Vincent in a tri-match hosted by Eastern Nazarene. Play will begin at 1:00pm.
