Johnson runs to 5th place finish in own JSC Invitational

JOHNSON, Vt. - The Johnson men's cross country team ran to a fifth place team finish in their own 2012 JSC Invitational on Saturday as Lyndon State College were the victors with Colby-Sawyer Collge coming in second place.

The Hornets had four of the top six finishers in the race with Josh Grant finishing in second place and Joe Kill take third to help key the win with a team low score of 24.  Colby-Sawyer's Hayden Bunnell won the race in a time of 27:25.7 helping his Chargers to the second place finish with a score of 47.

Johnson's top runner was rookie Brendan Walsh (Killingworth, Conn./Killingworth) who came in fourth place overall while classmate Steven Lamonde (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) was 14th overall.  Zach Shuttle (St. Albans, Vt./BFA-St. Albans) was 27th, Alex Lagase (Milford, Conn./Foran) was 29th, Kayden Keith (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples) was 36th, Greg Davis (Philadelphia, Penn./Samuel Fels) was 42nd and John Dabrowski (Williston, Vt./CVU) (pictured) was 44th.

Johnson will race at the Vermont Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships on Saturday, September 29 at Lyndon State College in their next race.
