Stacey Fox Named Women's Softball Head Coach

JOHNSON, Vt.- Northern Vermont University Associate Dean of Athletics Jamey Ventura announced on Friday afternoon the hiring of Stacey Fox as the 2019 NVU-Johnson Women's Softball Coach.

"Stacey's background as an educator, a former student-athlete at the Division I level, combined with her knowledge for the game of softball proved she was the perfect candidate for the position." Said Ventura "Her passion for the game and ability to teach our student-athletes will be valuable to the growth of the program. We are confident that Stacey will do a fantastic job building the program to be competitive in the conference."

Stacey Fox comes to NVU-Johnson with a competitive background as a student-athlete. Fox was a member of the University of Rhode Island women's softball team earning a full athletic scholarship while mainly playing catcher and outfield for the Rams. Fox played in 171 games throughout her career. After her time as an athlete at URI, Fox returned as a student assistant coach and assisted in fundraising, community service, academic performance and instructing practices and games. During the summer months Fox was the head coach and responsible for all facets of operation for the Conklin Raiders which is one of the premier youth travel softball teams in the state of New York.

Stacey Fox currently teaches physical education and health at the Walden School located in West, Vermont.

"I am extremely excited to join NVU-Johnson athletics as the head softball coach.  I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the student athletes to help them achieve their goals.  I am looking forward to working with returning student athletes and recruiting future athletes to join our program."  

Last season the Badgers went 6-22 overall and 2-8 in conference play.
