Badgers Fall to Cabrini in Spring Games

Clermont, FL.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team fell behind early and could not complete a comeback in their first game of the season against Cabrini University on Sunday morning.

The Badgers were poised to make an impact in their first game of the season at The SPRING GAMES held at Legends Way Ballfields earlier this morning.

Cabrini started the game strong in the first frame of action taking a demanding 5-0 lead. The Badgers couldn't answer in the first frame and Cabrini closed out the side.

In the second frame of action, pitcher Emily Marshall (Malon, NY) and the Badgers recollected themselves and showed much improvement defensively holding Cabrini to just two runs. On the offensive end the Badgers struggled to put the bat on the ball and were held without a run through the second inning.

Leading 7-0, Cabrini came out strong in the third knocking in five more runs to take an impressive 12-0 lead over the Badgers. After an impressive defensive performance by both teams Cabrini was held to one run in the fifth inning and ultimately stopped the Badgers in their last attempt to score.

With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-1 on the season as Cabrini University improves to 1-0.
