Neumann Tops Badgers 13-0 in Non-Conference Game

Clermont, FL- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team lost their second game of the afternoon to Neumann University by a score of 13-0. 

The Badgers were led by Lindsey LaPerle (Bethel, Vt.) who recorded two hits recording the first hit of the game in the top of the first inning. Neumann quickly retired the next two Badger batters and LaPerle was caught stealing to end the top of the first inning. Neumann had a strong outing in the first recording three runs. 

The second inning was no different as Neumann scored seven runs while the Badgers were held scoreless. Both teams remained scoreless in the third inning.  The Badgers gave up four runs in the fourth innings to Neumann. With one last opportunity to put points on the board with two outs Laura Dattilio (South Burlington, Vt.) walked on a wild pitch. With one runner on base, the Badgers unfortunately struck out and Neumann collected the win on the afternoon.

With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-4 on the season.

The Badgers will face Johnson & Wales University at 9:30am on Wednesday, February 27 and will conclude the day with a game against Rose-Hulman at 2:00pm.
