Badgers Edged By Wildcats at Spring Games

Clermont, FL. – The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team were edged by Johnson & Wales University in their first game of the day on Wednesday morning.

The Badgers were led by Mary Richardson (Vernon, Vt.) who recorded a hit and was left on base in the second inning of play. The Wildcat's opened up play scoring three runs in the first inning. Kaitlin Boucher (Barre,Vt.) closed the inning catching a pop up in right center field.

Quickly the Wildcats retired the three out of the first four batters to earning batting rights in the bottom of the second. The Badgers eventually recorded the third out of the inning when Richardson made a diving play and threw the batter out at first.

With the loss the Badgers fell to 0-5 and the Wildcats improve to 1-2.
