JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball team dropped the second game of Tuesday afternoons doubleheader against the Northern Vermont University-Lyndon Hornets. The Hornets pulled away as they recorded the go ahead run in the top of the sixth inning. 

No runs were scored until the second inning. The Hornets took the early 1-0 lead, Meghan Campo recorded a single for the Hornets and eventually scored after a Badger wild pitch and an RBI single from teammate Amber Roberts. The Badgers had strong bats in the bottom of the inning scoring three runs. The attack started off a double from Nicole Mooney. Kimberley Reville followed with a single of her own and Kaitlin Boucher recorded the first /RBI for the Badgers as her single brought Mooney home. The Badgers continued to put runners on base as Annika Dyhrberg hit a single to bring Reville home. The Badgers scored their last run of the inning off a Hornet error to take the early 3-1 lead.

The Badgers struggled to get runners on base for the remainder of the game. The Hornets scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning and scored the go ahead run in the sixth inning off a single RBI from Cassandra Black. 

The Hornets closed out the game retiring the side in the seventh inning and edged the Badgers taking the win by a score of 4-3.

The Badgers are set to host the University of Maine Farmington on Thursday, April 25 for a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader.
