Strong Second Inning Propels Cabrini to Victory Over NVU-Johnson

Clermont, FL.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team dropped their second game of the afternoon to close out day one of The Spring Games. The Badgers fell in the final contest of the day by a score of 13-0 to Cabrini University.

Both sides were even after the first inning. Cabrini pulled ahead in the bottom of the second frame to take a demanding 7-0 lead off of hits from Alexandra Schell, Aysiah Cintron and Olivia Young. 

The Badger offense struggled to get going throughout the contest. As the team only saw two hits. Bridget Hamel was the top performer for the Badgers and played on the mound for the duration of the contest. Hamel and the Badger defense held Cabrini to just two runs in the third and Savannah Dufrense anchored the outfield to come up with plays late to help close the inning. 

The Badgers struggled to get the bats going and a four run fourth inning propelled Cabrini to the 13-0 win in five innings.

The Badgers will enter day two of The Spring Games tomorrow when they face Point Park University at 10:15am and Hanover College at 12:15pm.
