Hanover Climbs to 14-0 Win Over Women's Softball

CLERMONT, FL.- In the final game at Legends Way Ballfields on Tuesday afternoon, the Badgers were edged by Hanover College in five innings by a score of 14-0.

Hanover was the first on the board in the top of the first frame taking the early 2-0 advantage. The Badgers would struggle early offensively but would hold Hanover scoreless in the second inning. 

Hanover would try hard to make a run in the third and fourth inning, but Savannah Dufrense and Jordan Galluzo would hold them to just two runs each inning with strong defense. 

The Badgers would remain scoreless throughout the contest and Hanover would capitalize in the top of the fifth frame scoring eight runs to earn the win.

Lily Beurman earned the win on the mound, throwing a no hitter for Hanover and recorded 11 strikeouts. Beurman improves to 2-0 on the season. Bridget Hamel recorded the loss and pitched the duration of the contest for NVU-Johnson. Hamel moves to 0-3 on the season and the Badgers collectively move to 0-4 as a team.

With a rest day on Tuesday, women's softball will return to action Wednesday, February 26 to face off against St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) at 12:00pm. They will conclude competition Wednesday against Hanover College in a rematch at 2:15pm.
