Badgers Fall to the Terriers 55-70

WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas College topped Johnson State Friday night 70-55 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match up.  The Badgers slip to 5-16 on the season and 2-12 in conference play while Thomas advances to 7-14, 5-10 in the NAC.

Johnson State placed two players in double-digits during their effort against Thomas. The Badgers' Brittany Robertson (Burlington, Vt./Burlington) led the team earning a game-high 20-points while freshman guard  Mary Richardson (Vernon, Vt./Brattleboro) notched 15 for the visitors.  

Elizabeth Goodall (Oakfield, Maine) paced the hosts contributing a team-high 18 points, shooting 5-12 from the field including 6-8 from the charity stripe. Katie McAllister (Pittiston, Maine) tallied 17 points towards the win while forward Jasmine Bishop (Waterville, Maine) chipped in 13 points.

The Badgers and the Terriers battled to a 30-30 tie after the first half. The teams saw 10 ties and seven lead changes in the first 20 minutes of play and the Badgers went up by as many as 13 in the opening stanza. Thomas chipped away at the lead and tied the contest going into the locker room.

The second half remained close until the 13th tie of the game, when Megan Pelletier (Winslow, Maine) cashed in on two free throw attempts to give the Terriers the lead for good. Overall, Thomas shot 76.3 (29-38) from the line and outscored the Badgers 40-25 in the second half.

The Badges and the Terriers will return to action tomorrow. Johnson State will face the University of Maine at Farmington for a 5:00 tip-off and Thomas will a host Lyndon State at 5pm.
