Badgers Ground Eagles in a 66-36 Win

Johnson State College's hot start to the game guided the Badgers to a 66-36 win over North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rival Green Mountain College Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Dome.

Brittany Robertson had five steals to go along with her team-high 13 points for Johnson State. Domonique Carter-Stanley netted 10 points off 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. Kasey DeGreenia scored all of her five points in the second half while also grabbing a team-high 10 boards for the Badgers.

Allison Wadsworth scored a game-high 17 points, going six-of-eight from the line and nailing three shots from deep. Amber Heath and Torie Cowell each added seven points for the Eagles, while Virginia Anderson grabbed a game-high 13 boards for the hosts.

JSC (4-9, 4-4 NAC) started the game off red-hot, pulling out to a 17-4 run to start the first half.

The Badgers' momentum continued for the remainder of the first half, pulling away to a 37-13 lead heading into halftime. The Eagles showed no quit, however, as they finished up the stanza with a 9-0 run.

Green Mountain (1-10, 0-7 NAC) continued to heat up in the second half with the help of Wadsworth, Cowell, and Heath combining for 21 points.

The Badgers owned the boards in the contest, outrebounding Green Mountain 57-41. Johnson State played very aggressive defense, forcing the Eagles to commit 34 turnovers in the contest.

Green Mountain will travel to Colby-Sawyer Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Badgers prepare to host Husson next Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
