Panthers Earn 60-51 Win Over Badgers

Plymouth State College placed three players in double figure scoring as the Panthers earned a 60-51 win over hosting Johnson State college. With the loss, the Badgers dip to 3-7 overall and 4-2 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play while the Panthers advance to 5-5 overall and 0-2 in The Little East Conference. 

Ace Lawrence, Taylor Perry and Tiffany Lewis led the Panthers' offense notching 12, 12 and 10 points respectively. Lawrence pulled down seven boards on the night. 

For the Badgers, Sarah Voorhis her team with 12 points while Domonique Carter-Stanley tallied 10 points and four rebounds. 

The Panthers opened up the game with two made free throws which was foreshadowing for the rest of the contest. After five minutes of play the Panthers had a 10-8 lead on the hosts, which they quickly converted to a nine point advantage in just two minutes. The first stanza closed out with the Panthers on top 31-27.  

In the second half, the free throws made the difference in the game as Johnson sent Plymouth to the charity stripe for 30 points of which, the Panthers sunk 21. The Badgers were unable to grab onto a lead in the second half, ultimately falling 60-51 to Plymouth.

Johnson State will host Lyndon St. at 1:00pm on Saturday the 10th for the first NAC contest of 2015 while Plymouth will host Fisher on Thursday for a 7:00pm tip.
