Badgers Earn Thrilling 60-58 Win over New England College

Freshman guard Amanda Bednarick sank a jumper in the final seconds of the game to give the Badgers a 60-58 win over New England College Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Badgers advance to 3-4 on the year and 1-0 in the conference while New England College dips to 5-2 overall and 0-2 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play.

For Johnson, Domonique Carter-Stanley led all scorers with a 23 point performance. Carter-Stanley also dished out five assists, grabbed four steals and posted three blocks. Nicole Menard also posted double digits, adding twelve points to the Badgers' winning effort.

The Pilgrims saw four players enter double-digits for a very balanced attack. Utshana Durham led her team offensively, posting 15 points and pulling down four boards. Breana Ramirez contributed 12 points in the losing effort while teammates Marjani Lillard and Tiffany Davis notched 10 apiece.

Both teams finished the game shooting 39% from the field, while the Pilgrims held the Badgers to 0-for-5 from three-point range.  Johnson held the 39-36 advantage in rebounds, while the Pilgrims turned the ball over 20 times compared to 17 for the host.

New England College will return to action on the 8th when they travel to Bennington to face Southern Vermont College while the Badgers will travel to Nichols to for a 7:00pm non-conference game.
