Badgers Breeze Past Eagles 78-44

Johnson's women's basketball team picked up a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory  at Carter Gymnasium, defeating Green Mountain by a final score of 78-44. The win moves the Badgers to 2-1 in NAC play and 5-5 overall, while Green Mountain moves to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the NAC. 

Johnson shot 40.2 percent from the floor in the victory, while Green Mountain shot just 27 percent from the floor in the losing effort. 

Nicole Menard of Johnson and Sherelle Jackson of Green Mountain led all scorers in the contest with 16 points each. Domonique Carter-Stanley and Ashley Goddard scored 15 and 10 points respectively. Kasey DeGreenia pulled down 13 boards from the Badgers. 

Johnson St. jumped out to the early lead, going up 14-6 in the first five minutes and never looked back. Johnson poured on another nine points before the quarter ended, giving Johnson the 25-12 lead. 

Johnson pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles 21-6 in the frame to take a 46-20 lead into halftime. Menard tallied 10 points in the first half for the Badgers.

The third quarter was once again controlled by the Johnson offense, as they outscored Green Mountain 8-6 to stretch the lead to 54-26 going into the final frame. Johnson St. made a run in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Eagles 24-18 in the final frame to close out the game with a final score of 78-44. 

Johnson is back in action when the team returns from break with a road game to Colby-Sawyer on January 5th while Green Mountain will host Daniel Webster on January 7th for a 3:00pm game.
