Badgers Hand Terriers 68-44 Conference Loss

The women's basketball team earned a 68-44 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win over visiting Thomas College. With the win, the Badgers advance to 8-10 on the year and 5-6 in the NAC, while the Terriers slide to 2-16 overall and 1-10 in conference action.

Johnson's Amanda Bednarick posted a team-high 16 points in her team's win.  Nicole Menard tallied 13 points for Johnson while Domonique Carter-Stanley and Kasey DeGreenia poured on 12 and 10 points respectively.

Thomas' Katie McAllister was the lone Terrier to post double digits, recording a game-high 20 points in the team's losing effort.

The first quarter showed promise to be a close game with Thomas knotting it up twice with Johnson.  Both teams were then held scoreless after Ashley Gagne's jumper. Johnson held its two point lead to end the quarter ahead 12-10.

Johnson amped up the defense in the second quarter holding Thomas to just six points. The Badgers ended the half up 25-16 and never looked back.

Thomas scored in the first two minutes but Johnson answered with seven unanswered points and ran away with the game going ahead by 21 by the end of the quarter.

After a 8-0 start for Johnson in fourth quarter, the teams exchanged points seeing a rally from Thomas. The effort would not prove to be enough though as the Badgers sealed the deal with a 6-4 run to end the game ontop 68-44.

Johnson plays host to University of Maine-Farmington Saturday at 1:00pm while Thomas will travel to Lyndon for a 1:00pm tip-off.
