Badgers Roll Past Gators, 88-71

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. - The Johnson State College women's basketball team defeated Pine Manor 88-71 in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening.

The Badgers improve to 6-6 on the season, while the Gators drop to 4-9.

1st Quarter

The teams stayed even through the opening minutes of the game, with Johnson holding a 13-11 lead five minutes in. The Badgers went off on an 11-2 run to close out the quarter with a 24-13 lead. Domonique Carter-Stanley (Norwalk, Conn.) and Ashley Goddard (Jamaica, Vt.) led the Badgers in the quarter with seven points each.

2nd Quarter

Johnson maintained their lead in the second quarter, taking a 45-30 lead into the break. Kasey DeGreenia (Concord, Vt.) paced the Badgers with six points in the frame.

3rd Quarter

Johnson continued to push in the third on the back of Goddard's eight points. At the end of the third, Johnson held a 64-46 lead.

4th Quarter

Johnson put the Gators away in the fourth, with Pine Manor unable to get the lead down to double-digits, as the Badgers went on to the 88-71 victory. Carter-Stanley scored six in the final quarter to lead Johnson.

Johnson Leaders

Carter-Stanley finished an assist and rebound short of a triple-double, with an 18 point, nine rebound, nine assist and four steal stat line. Goddard led the Badgers with 22 points and pulled in nine rebounds, while DeGreenia recorded a 16 point, 14 rebound double-double.

Pine Manor Leaders

Erica Jones scored a game high 28 points, while Taylor Ingram-Martin picked up a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Stat Breakdown

Johnson outshot the Gators 47.5% to 33.3%, and 29.4% to 21.1% from beyond the arc. The Badgers outrebounded Pine Manor 56-44. Pine Manor won the turnover battle, forcing 24 and committing 15.
