NAC Quarterfinal Preview: No. 6 Johnson State at No. 3 New England College

JOHNSON, VT. – The Johnson State women's basketball team (12-13, 8-10 NAC) will travel to New England College (19-6, 13-5 NAC) for the Quarterfinal Round of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Playoffs on Tuesday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m. This will mark the Badgers first appearance in the NAC Playoffs since 2014, which was the freshman season for this year's seniors. The winner of this game will take on second seeded Castleton in the Semifinal Round at Husson on Friday, February 24th.

About the Badgers

Johnson State enters their eighth NAC Tournament in program history as the number six seed. The Badgers have been led offensively by senior Kasey DeGreenia (Concord, Vt.), who averaged 12.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game and recorded 10 double-doubles in the regular season. Senior Domonique Carter-Stanley (Norwalk, Conn.) averaged 11.7 points and generated offense for the Badgers with 3.5 assists and 3.2 steal per game. Seniors Ashley Goddard (Jamaica, Vt.) and Sarah Voorhis (Nashua N.H.) add 9.7 and 9.6 points per game, respectively, with each averaging just over six rebounds per game. Senior Nicole Menard (Milton, Vt.) adds a three-point shooting threat to the starting lineup, shooting 32.5% from beyond the arc this season.

About the Pilgrims

The Pilgrims enter their sixth-consecutive NAC Tournament appearance as the third seed. NEC has been led by rookie Rene Hudson, who averages 15.1 points and five rebounds per game. Hudson is a threat from three-point range, shooting over 30% on the season. Hudson is supported by seniors Utshana Durham and Marjani Lillard who each average over eight points per game. NEC was the best rebounding team in the conference in the regular season and have five players that average five or more rebounds per game, including Tiffany Davis, who leads the team with 7.3 rebounds per game.
