JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's basketball team fell to Norwich University 60-41 in a non-conference game on Thursday evening at Carter Gym.
The Badgers drop to 0-6 (0-3 NAC) on the season while Norwich moves to 3-4 (0-0 GNAC).
1ST QUARTER
Johnson popped out to an early 4-0 lead before the Cadets went on a 10-0 run to take the 10-4 lead. Johnson battled back to bring the score to 10-9, but an Emily Oliver three-pointer gave Norwich a 13-9 lead after one.
2ND QUARTER
The Cadets opened the second quarter on a 9-0 run that was ended by an Emily Marshall (Malone, N.Y.) three at the 5:30 mark to bring the score to 22-12. The team traded points through the remainder of the half, with Norwich taking a 29-17 lead into the break.
3RD QUARTER
The visitors came out strong again to start the second half, going on a 8-2 run in the first two minutes to grab a 37-19 lead. Both offences went cold through the remaining eight minutes, with Johnson outscoring the Cadets 6-4 to bring the score to 41-25 after three.
4TH QUARTER
The Badgers kept pace in the final quarter, but were unable to chip away at the lead and fell 60-41.
