JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's basketball team fell to Green Mountain College 77-64 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Carter Gym.
The Badgers drop to 1-9 (1-5 NAC) on the season while the Eagles move to 2-8 (1-6 NAC).
1st QUARTER
Green Mountain jumped out early to a 10-2 lead, but the Badgers battled back to tie the score at 10 with four minutes left in the quarter. The teams traded baskets through the remainder of the period and the Eagles took the 19-16 advantage after one.
2nd QUARTER
The score stayed close through the first six minutes of the second, before Green Mountain closed the half on a 7-2 run to take a 37-29 lead into the break.
3rd QUARTER
Johnson started the half on a 8-2 run to bring the score to 39-37 three minutes into the third. Green Mountain regained control through the remainder of the quarter and held a 52-46 heading into the fourth.
4th QUARTER
The Badgers hung around in the fourth, but the Eagles pulled away at the end to take the 77-64 victory.
