JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's basketball team fell to SUNY Canton 60-57 in a non-conference contest on Thursday night at Carter Gym.
The Badgers drop to 2-15 (1-10 NAC) on the season while the Kangaroos move to 10-9.
1st QUARTER
The Badgers took advantage of early foul trouble by the Roos to take an early 10-3 lead five minutes into the game. The Badgers kept control through the remainder of the quarter to take a 17-9 lead into the second quarter.
2nd QUARTER
Johnson maintained a 10-point margin through the first six minutes of the quarter, before SUNY Canton went on a 15-6 to close out the half down 33-32.
3rd QUARTER
The Roos took control in the third, slowly gaining the lead and building it to a seven point lead by the end of the quarter, holding a 51-44 edge heading into the fourth.
4th QUARTER
The Badgers came out strong to start the fourth, going on an 11-2 run to take a 55-53 lead on a Jocelyn Pellerin (Keene, N.H.) three-pointer with four minutes left. The Roos took back the lead two minutes later and held on to take the 60-57 win.
