JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's basketball team defeated Thomas College 70-65 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday evening at Carter Gym.
The Badgers improve to 3-16 (2-11 NAC) on the season while the Terriers move to 8-12 (5-8 NAC).
1st QUARTER
The teams were tied 9-9 six minutes into the game, before Thomas closed the quarter on a 7-0 run to take a 16-9 lead into the second.
2nd QUARTER
The Terriers held control in the second, pushing their lead to 13 late in the quarter. Jocelyn Pellerin (Keene, N.H.) hit a late three to put the Badgers within 10, going into the break down 39-29.
3rd QUARTER
Johnson went on a 19-9 run though the first eight and a half minutes of the half to pull the game even at 48. Two made free throws by Lindsey LaPerle (Bethel, Vt.) late in the quarter put Johnson up 50-48 going into the fourth.
4th QUARTER
The Badgers opened the period on a 9-2 run to take control, 59-50. Johnson held off a late push by Thomas to hold on to the 70-65 victory.
