WBB: Late Game Run Carries Cadets Over Badgers

NORTHFIELD, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game against Norwich University on Tuesday evening by a score of 68-41.

 Johnson was led by Junior guard Lindsay LaPerle (Bethel, Vt.) and first year player Alexandra Barry (Hopewell JCT, NY). Both LaPerle and Barry scored nine points apiece for the Badgers while LaPerle and Kaitlyn Brouard (Milton, Vt.) added a team high in rebounds collecting four a piece. The Badgers gained the lead over the Cadets mid-way through the first. The Cadets came back to regain the lead and never let it fall behind as they made a push closing the game on a 21-7 run.

 Emily Oliver and Mary Casamassa led the way for the Cadets. Oliver scored a team high 16 points while Casamassa scored 13. The Badgers struggled to shoot the ball as they only shot 24.6% from the field and 13.8% from behind the arc while putting up 29 three-point attempts. 

 With the loss the Badgers fall to 1-9 on the season and are set to travel to Southern Vermont College for a non-conference matchup tipping off at 6:00pm.
