Badgers Drop Conference Game Against Eagles

BANGOR, ME- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team struggled to score against the Eagles in the first and third quarter of the contest and fell by a score of 85-45.

 The Badgers were led by starting point guard Lindsey LaPerle (Bethel, Vt.) who scored a team high 16 points on 5-14 from the field. Mariah Ramos (Lebanon, N.H.) contributed 12 points and five boards for the Badgers. The first quarter was controlled by the Eagles who outscored the Badgers by a score of 20-4. Down early the Badgers needed to find a way to score and they got a great contribution from LaPerle. LaPerle scored 14 of her 16 points in the second stint of the contest. She shot 5-5 from the field with four of those makes being from behind the arc. The Badgers outscored the Eagles in the second quarter by a score of 19-14. 

 Going into halftime the Badgers still faced a deficit, trailing 34-23. Coming out of the locker room at halftime the Badgers tried their best to make an immediate impact but fell short to a dominate third quarter from the Eagles. The Eagles won the third quarter scoring 32 points and did a great job defensively by holding the Badgers to just seven points. Kenzie Worcester was dominate for the Eagles scoring 32 points leading all scorers for the game. No other Eagle contributed double digit scoring on the night. Megan Peach added eight points and a game high ten rebounds.

 With the loss the Badgers fall to 2-18 and 0-10 in conference play while the Eagles improve to 14-6 overall and 10-0 in NAC play.
