WBB: Badgers add Johanna Kolok for 2019-2020 Season

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team and Head Coach Greg Eckman have gained another commitment for the 2019-2020 season.

Johanna Kolok a product of Jericho, Vermont has signed the necessary paperwork and will join the Northern Vermont University-Johnson community and the NVU-Johnson women's basketball program this upcoming Fall. Johanna is unsure of what she will study when arriving to NVU-Johnson but has shown a desired interest in the music program offered at NVU-Johnson.

NVU-Johnson and the women's basketball program has always been influential in the athletic growth and development of Johanna's gameas she looks forward to working with Coach Eckman this upcoming year.  "I have gone to his camps in the past and he is a very funny and hardworking coach that I am very excited to be working with for the next four years helping me improve my skills and love for the sport. I am looking forward to getting to know the girls and excited to make new friends and have fun while continuing to do the one thing I love most, basketball!"

Johanna played her high school career under Head Coach Mark Pfaff at Mount Mansfield Union High School. This past season Mount Mansfield finished with a 12-8 overall record in the regular season. Coach Pfaff believes Johanna will bring a sense of competitiveness with her as she competes at the next level. "Jojo is an outstanding shooter and fierce competitor. She has a heart-of-gold and those qualities, combined with her sense of humor, make her a joy to be around."

Head Coach Greg Eckman is thrilled for the opportunity to add Johanna to the Badger family for the upcoming season. "I am extremely excited to be adding Jojo to our women's basketball family for the 2019 season." Said Eckman. "I have known Jojo and her family ever since she was a youth basketball player and attended our girls' basketball development camp during the summer. Jojo is a hardworking player who will be looked upon to help provide depth at the guard position this upcoming season.  She will provide toughness within our defense and is a strong wing player with the ability to shoot the three or be in our 2-guard wing action. It is always great when players have attended our camps in the past and make the decision that NVU-Johnson is the right place for them to attend college and continue their athletic career. I'm happy Jojo decided to become a Badger, I know NVU-Johnson will provide her with all of the opportunities both on and off the court that she is looking for".

Johanna Kolok is the third women's basketball commitment for the 2019-2020 season.
