Klaire Ware Joins Badger Family for 2019-2020 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team has tabbed another commitment for the 2019-2020 season. Klaire Ware a transfer student from Plymouth State University will play for Head Coach Greg Eckman this upcoming season. 

Ware a product of Saint Albans, Vermont and a student-athlete at BFA-Fairfax has decided to pursue a degree in Health Sciences at Northern Vermont University-Johnson and will minor in Psychology. "I chose Northern Vermont University-Johnson for a few reasons" said Ware. "The location, academics, basketball and Coach Eckman. Through the recruitment he was a huge deciding factor for me". 

Ware is excited to get underway with the Badgers after playing the 2018-2019 season at Plymouth State University. "I am really excited to join the Badger Basketball family. Being close knit is so important to success, and everyone in this family just really has a huge love for the sport. There's so many people I am able to reach out to within the team and around the university". 

Ware played her club AAU basketball for Next Level Athletics under Head Coach Kerry Lyons. "Klaire is a tremendous competitor", said Lyons. "Her willingness and ability to do anything needed for the team made her a pleasure to coach.   Her dedication and work effort will make her a valuable addition to the Johnson team". 

Ware's work ethic speaks for itself. Head Coach Greg Eckman and NVU-Johnson's men's assistant Beverlis Robertson have seen the work that she has put in to make her the player that she is today. "Klaire has really worked hard on her game over the years to become the great player she is today.  I had a chance meet Klaire and see her development ever since she first attended our summer camps while she was in middle school.", said Eckman. "Klaire brings hard work, a high basketball IQ and passion for the game.  She is a strong student in the class room and we a more than happy to welcome Klaire to the Johnson Women's basketball family". 

Coach Robertson had the opportunity to coach Klaire during her playing days on the Vermont Lady Cats. "Klaire is a wonderful hard working young lady, she has played taller than she & is a smart player and I think that she will be a great asset to the Johnson family".
