Women's Basketball Falls to Eagles in Conference Action

BANGOR, ME.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team wrapped up their final contest of the weekend at Newman Gymnasium against Husson University. The Eagles captured the win by a score of 82-38.

Halie Tillotson and Klaire Ware led the way for the Badgers scoring 13 points each. Tillotson shot an impressive 6-9 from the field and added three rebounds. Behind Ware's scoring was five rebounds, a steal and one block. 

Badgers went on a 4-0 run in the first period after an Alexandra Barry free throw and a made field goal from behind the arc from Tillotson. The Eagles responded controlling the pace and holding the Badgers to only two more points in the period. Seven Eagles scored to earn the 29-6 lead headed into the second period. 

The Badgers defense slowed the Eagles attack forcing them to turn the ball over six times in the second period, but the Eagles had control scoring 13 points and holding the Badgers to only six points for a 42-13 lead headed into the break. 

In the second half Ware led the Badgers offense scoring eleven of her thirteen points. The Eagles controlled the second half and came away with the 82-38 victory to move to 2-0 in conference play. With the loss the Badgers move to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in NAC play.

Women's Basketball is set to travel to SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday, December 14 for a 1:00pm tip-off.
