Terriers Top Badgers in NAC Play

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team hosted Thomas College in their first home North Atlantic Conference contest of the season. The Terriers captured the win by a score of 77-55.

Halie Tillotson led the Badgers with 15 points and six rebounds. Melissaann Clark recorded eight points off the bench while Ellery Kiefer added a team high seven rebounds and three assists. 

The Terriers jumped out to an early lead, going ahead 15-7 eight minutes in until the Badgers stopped their initial run. With opportunities to score in the second quarter the Badgers failed to connect which allowed the Terriers to build their lead up to as much as 15 and took the lead headed into the break by a score of 39-26. The Badgers were held to just 33.3% shooting from the field and the Terriers had a strong shooting performance shooting 47.4% from the floor.

In the second half, Klaire Ware connected on her second field goal from behind the arc but the Terriers quickly gained control and outscored the Badgers in the final quarters of action to earn the win. 

With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-12 on the season and 0-3 in North Atlantic Conference play and will host the University of Maine Farmington on Saturday at 1:00pm.
