Badgers Fall on the Road to Clarkson

POTSDAM, NY- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball program went on the road to compete against Clarkson University on Friday evening. 

In the opening minutes, the Badgers were able to stick with the Knights, taking a couple of early leads including a banked in 3-pointer by Devyn Thompson that made it 7-6. Clarkson re took the lead and went on a run of their own to take the edge headed into the second stint of action. 

The Badgers were led by Ellery Kiefer, who had 20 points on 5-for-15 shooting and a 9-for-12 effort from the free throw line, adding in 12 boards. Aysha Hodgdon also added five points for the Badgers. 

NVU-Johnson tightened up their offense and reduced their turnovers down the stretch of the second quarter and played mostly even over the final few minutes of the period.

In the second half it was Clarkson who had control and capitalized throughout the final minutes to earn the 79-42 win. Women's basketball will travel to Norwich University on Sunday, March 7 to conclude the 2021 season.
