High Scoring Fourth Quarter leads to triumph win over Nichols 93-79

Monday 1/16/23

Our women's Badger's Basketball team traveled to Nichols college for the competition between the two. Our Badgers came out of the gates hot scoring 27 in the first quarter and continued to hold the lead up through the half with the scores being 45-38 going into halftime. Nichol's attempted to make a comback coming out of the half scoring 25 points in the quarter compared to our 16 points putting the scores at 61-63. But with the fourth and final quarter our Badgers were able to take off and not look back scoring an impressive 32 points in the quarter to close the game out with a victory with the final score being 93-79. A big reason our Badgers found success in this game was their smart shot selection with us shooting 50% from the field and 38.5% from deep compared to Nichols 33.3% from the field and 16.3% from deep. Along with our absolute control over the glass almost doubling their rebounds with us having 60 compared to their 33.

The standout performances for the game are;  Emma Buonanno with the double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Gabriella Wardwell with 22 points and another record breaking night on the boards with an incredible 29 rebounds, and Paris Atuahene with 1 assist shy to a triple double with 32 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists.

This puts their record at 10-6

Their next game is home against SUNY Canton on Saturday 1/21/23 at 1 PM
