Day Leads Terriers to 23-6 Win Over Badgers

Johnson State College women's lacrosse dropped a conference tilt to Thomas College 23-6 at Sabine Field on the Campus of Norwich University. Thomas advances to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while Johnson moves to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in the conference.

Johnson State saw two goals a piece from Kylie Aither and Nichole Weeks and then one a piece from Megan Conger and Danielle Mayo. The Terriers were led by Jennifer Day who netted an impressive eight goals followed by Brittany Premo who posted seven goals.

Johnson State's Kylie Aither opened up the scoring early in the first stanza off of a feed from Weeks. Thomas quickly answered with six goals in seven minutes and never looked back. The Terriers used sharp stick skills and quick off-ball movement to built the lead to 14-4 before both teams headed into the half.

After the break, Johnson held Thomas to just nine goals total, while also contributing two more of their own. The Badgers finished strong, completing set-plays but it wouldn't be enough to stop Thomas from rolling to a 23-6 victory.

Samantha Jankowski made five saves while Brittany Fox and Tori Grey split time between the pipes. Fox and Grey each stopped four a piece.

Johnson will return to action Monday, April 6th when it faces a rescheduled non-conference tilt against Norwich University at 7:00pm under the lights. Thomas will host Regis College on Thursday, April 2nd at 4:00pm.
