Beavers Roll Past Badgers in 17-4 Win

Freshman Carly Raymond and Jaclyn Langevin each scored four goals apiece as the University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse team (3-6, 2-3) rolled past Johnson State with a, 17-4, North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win on Saturday at Smith Field.

Jaclyn Langevin started the scored attack just over the two-minute mark by hitting a free position shot. After the Badgers answered back, Langevin gave the Beavers the lead again after an assist from Rhi Jackson.

Carly Raymond netted back-to-back goals in a two and a half minute span to give the Beavers a, 4-1, advantage. Raymond also assisted UMF's next goal as fellow freshman Sierra Gilley found the back of the net.

UMF celebrated Senior Night on Saturday and senior Maddi Kadnar had a stellar performance with two first-half goals and three assists. Kadnar notched her first score of the day with 19:05 left and a free position shot. Farmington scored five times on free position opportunities. Kadnar assisted Raymond's third goal of the afternoon and her final assist came with 64 ticks left on the clock when Ayla Allen gave UMF a, 13-2, lead prior to halftime.

Jackson controlled UMF's scoring in the second half with a pair of goals. Sasha Hampton and Alaina Shorey rounded out the final two goals for the Beavers.

Patty Smith picked up the win for UMF with 13 saves. The Beavers started the afternoon on the outside looking in with the NAC playoff race. The top six teams make the tournament and UMF went from seventh to fifth with today's win.

Johnson will travel to Maine Maritime on Sunday for another NAC tilt while UMaine-Farmington plays its second to last conference game on Tuesday at Maine Maritime Academy.
