Wildcats Roll to 21-8 Win over Badgers

The Johnson State College women's lacrosse team fell 21-8 to visiting Wheelock College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Johnson State College. With the loss, the Badgers slide to 2-11 on the year and 1-8 in conference play.

The Badgers were led by Nichole Weeks who netted four goals, wone eight draw controls and contributed one assist. Wheelock was led by Emma Marrs and Molly Centore who each notched seven goals. 

Wheelock dominated the game from the start, scoring four unanswered goals in the first four minutes. The Badgers got on the board at the 21:00 mark when Kylie Aither found Shannon Rooney, who sent a laser pasy Wheelock's goalie. Despite two more goals from the Badgers, Wheelock ended the half ahead, 11-3. 

The Badgers took advantage of the break, running an effective half field play, resulting in a goal from Weeks  just forty seconds after the whilstle blew. The Badgers experienced a few more bursts of offensive power, but were not able to overcome the visitors, who posted another 11 goal half brining the final tally to 21-8. 

The Badgers will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Southern Vermont College for a make up non-conference tilt.
