Beavers Edge Badgers 12-9

University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse took a 12-9 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest from hosts Johnson State at Minaert Field on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Beavers advance to 3-6 on the year and 1-4 in the NAC while the Badgers drop to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

The Beavers got on the scoreboard early in the first half with a Sierra Gilley unassisted goal, but were quickly answered by the Badgers leading scorer, Nichole Weeks. Weeks and Shannon Rooney both scored two more quick goals to give Johnson a 3-1 advantage. The teams continued to answer goals back and forth, but the Beavers ended the half ahead 7-5. 

Me.-Farmington went on a four goal run in the second half to give them a six goal cushion, but Johnson answered with three goals at the end to cut the deficit to three. Ultimately, the offensive flurry at the end couldn't lift the Badgers past the Beavers and the visitors walked off with a win. 

Kaitlin Boucher made eight saves in net for the Badgers while Alyssa Arsenault made six and picked a the win. 

Johnson State will travel to Colby-Sawyer on Monday the 18th at 4:30pm while Me.-Farmington will travel to Maine Maritime on Tuesday at 4:30pm.
