Eagles Edge Badgers 12-8

The Green Mountain College women's lacrosse took a 12-8 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest from hosts Johnson State at Minaert Field on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Eagles advance to 5-6 on the year and 4-2 in the NAC while the Badgers drop to 1-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play.

The Badgers got on the scoreboard early in the first half thanks to Nichole Weeks with an unassisted goal. The Eagles quickly answered with three goals, two of which were free position shots, to take an early 3-1 lead.  Olivia Teranzzano found the back of the goal with four minutes to go in the first half, cutting the Eagles lead to two.  Johnson fired two more shots before the end of the half, but wasn't able to close, giving the Eagles a 4-2 advantage at the break. 

Johnson scored six more times in the second half, but were no match for the visitor's offense. Goals from Caitie Brewster and Megan Scully fueled the Eagles six goal run in the middle of the second half. 

Brewster led the Eagles in scoring, posting six goals, while Megan Scully potted three in her team's winning effort. Nichole Weeks and Shannon Rooney each contributed three goals in the Badgers' loss. 

Kaitlin Boucher made sixteen saves in net for the Badgers while Chelsea Wimble made ten and picked a the win. 

Johnson State will travel to Castleton on Saturday the 23rd at 4:30pm while Green Mountain will host Husson at 1:00pm on Saturday.
