NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Johnson State College women's lacrosse team fell to Colby-Sawyer College 19-1 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Wednesday evening.
The Badgers go to 0-4 (0-2 NAC) on the season while the Chargers improve to 6-2 (3-1 NAC).
1st Half
Colby-Sawyer put 14 unanswered goals up in the first half, including five from Molly Mulcahy. The Chargers took the 14-0 lead into halftime.
2nd Half
The Chargers added five more throughout the second, before Nichole Weeks (Barre, Vt.) closed the game with her seventh goal of the season to bring the final score to 19-1.
Goalkeepers
Colby-Sawyer's Meghan Castellano played the first half in goal and made four saves. Kailyn Lapham played the final 30 minutes, allowing one goal and made one save. Johnson's Heatherann Esden (Southington, Conn.) made seven saves in the loss.
Stats Breakdown
Colby-Sawyer held a 35-7 advantage in shots and a 23-16 edge in ground balls. Johnson tallied 28 turnovers to the Chargers' 20. Colby-Sawyer completed 10-of-10 clear attempts, while Johnson finished 5-for-8 on clears.
