Golden Knights Take Second Game of Potsdam College Cup

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Johnson State College women's soccer team fell to Clarkson 8-1 in the second game of the Potsdam College Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The loss brings Johnson to 0-5 on the season, while the Golden Knights improve to 3-0.

SCORING

1ST Half: Clarkson opened the scoring midway through the first half on a goal by Lauren Flynn. The Golden Knights added three more goals in the final three minutes of the half to go up 4-0 at halftime.

2nd Half: The Golden Knights would add four more goals throughout the second half, before Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) put the Badgers on the board with a goal, assisted by Hillary Ross (Highgate, Vt.), in the 89th minute of the contest.

GOALKEEPERS

Kaila Lemmer (Barnard, Vt.) was given with the loss for the Badgers, making ten saves on 18 shots. Elyse Green earned the win for Clarkson.

NEXT UP

Johnson will open North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday, September 17 at home against Thomas College at 3:30 PM.
