Johnson Soars Past Eagles in NAC Contest

JOHNSON, VT. – The Johnson State College women's soccer team defeated Green Mountain 3-1 to earn their first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory of the season.

Johnson improves to 1-6 on the season and 1-1 in conference play, while the Eagles fall to 0-6-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the NAC.

SCORING

1ST Half: - Katherine Fish (Lake Elmore, Vt.) picked up her first goal of the season in the seventh minute unassisted to put the Badgers up 1-0 going into the break.

2nd Half: Maddison Prescott (Topsham, Maine) doubled the Johnson lead 20 minutes into the second on a goal assisted by Fish. Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) tacked on a goal assisted by Hillary Ross (Highgate, Vt.) in the 75th minute. The Eagles pushed one through five minutes later to end the Johnson shutout bid.

GOALKEEPERS

Kaila Lemmer (Barnard, Vt.) was strong in goal for Johnson, saving three of four shots on goal to earn the win. Tyah Culp was tagged with the loss for GMC in the 11 save effort.
