FARMINGTON, Maine– The Johnson State College women's soccer team fell to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent University of Maine at Farmington, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at Leib Field. With the loss Johnson moves to (1-11-0, 1-6-0) and Maine Farmington improves to (7-5-0, 5-1-0).
SCORING
1ST Half: Maine Farmington struck first, scoring just two minutes into the game. Johnson's Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) answered with a breakaway goal to tie the game 1-1 with 10 minutes left in the half. Maine Farmington would answer just three minutes later to make the score 2-1 in favor of the hosts going into halftime.
2nd Half: Aither scored for Johnson nine minutes into the second half. This would be the last goal the Badgers would see as Maine Farmington's Lydia Roy went on to score a second half hat trick, leading the Beavers to a 5-2 conference win.
GOALKEEPERS
Danielle Schreiner (St. Albans, Vt.) was tagged with the loss for Johnson, allowing five goals on 21 shots. Kina Thompson picked up the win for Thomas, stopping one shot out of three on goal.
