2017 Women's Soccer Schedule Released

JOHNSON, VT. – The Johnson State College Athletic Department today released the 2017 women's soccer schedule. The Badgers will suit up for 18 contests this season, including nine North Atlantic Conference (NAC) games and seven home matches.

2nd year Head Coach Andrew Lafrenz and the Badgers will open the season at home on Friday, September 1st at 2:00 p.m. against Vermont Technical College. Johnson will then travel to the College of Saint Joseph on Sunday, September 3rd for a 2:00 p.m. match.

The Badgers will play four more away matches in a row against Norwich, Curry, Newbury and SUNY Canton before hosting their NAC opener against Green Mountain on Saturday, September 16th at 3:30 p.m. This game will be a part of Alumni Reunion & Family Weekend, which you can learn more about HERE.

Johnson will travel to Bay Path on September 17th before returning home for a weekend double-header against NAC foe Thomas on Saturday and Paul Smith's College on Sunday. The Badgers will then travel to Maine for matches against Maine Maritime Academy on September 30th and Husson on October 1st.

Johnson will return home for NAC games against New England College and Colby-Sawyer on October 7th and 8th, followed by their home finale and Senior Day on October 14th against UMaine-Farmington. The Badgers will close out the season on the road with conference games against Castleton on October 17th and Lyndon on October 21st.

The 2017 NAC Tournament will begin on October 28th with the third and fourth seeded teams hosting the sixth and fifth seeded teams respectively. The first and second seeds will receive a first-round bye. The semifinals will be played on October 31st with the one seed hosting the winner of four vs. five and the two seed hosting the winner of the three vs. six. The NAC Championship Game will be held on Saturday, November 4th at the highest remaining seed. The NAC Champion will go on to represent the conference in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Johnson State finished the 2016 season with a 3-12 record overall, including a thrilling double overtime victory over SUNY Canton in the season finale. The Badgers failed to qualify for the NAC playoffs, finishing eighth in the conference with a 2-7 NAC record.
