JOHNSON, Vt. - The Johnson State College women's soccer team defeated Paul Smith's College 6-3 in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon. Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) broke the school's record for all-time goals scored with her four-goal performance, putting her at 46 goals for her career.
SCORING
1st Half: Katherine Fish (Lake Elmore, Vt.) gave Johnson (4-4, 0-2 NAC) an early lead, scoring just over 2 minutes into the game. A little over a minute later Aither followed it up with a goal of her own. Anna Mehner was able to get a goal for Paul Smith's (1-6, 1-3 YSCC), but the Badgers bounced back with two goals in just under a two-minute span from Aither. Fish tallied one more goal in the 34th minute to make the game 5-1 in the Badgers favor.
2nd Half: Paul Smith's was able to score 12 minutes into the second half to cut the Johnson lead 5-2 but Johnson's Aither scored with just under 20 minutes left in regulation to extend the lead. Paul Smith's Mehner would add one more but it wasn't enough and the Badgers ended the game with a 6-3 win.
