Cauchon Lifts Badgers in North Atlantic Conference Contest

Johnson Vt.–  The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer team topped University of Maine Presque Isle 5-0 at Minaert Field on Saturday afternoon.

 SCORING

1stHalf: Junior Kelsey Cauchon (Colchester, Vt) put the Badgers on the board early off an assist by freshman Dezirae Youngman (Jericho, Vt). Less than ten minutes later, Cauchon powered in her second goal of the day from a pass by freshman Dakota Browder (Randolph, Vt). The Badgers took a 3-0 lead entering halftime after freshman Monica Weisenforth (Albany, NY) found the back of the net. Freshman Lindsay Sanchez-Cardona (Stamford, CT) is credited with the assist. 

 2ndHalf: The second half was no different as the Badgers controlled the ball for most of the half. Cauchon scored in the 47thminute assisted by both Iashia Cooper (Derby, CT) and Lindsay Sanchez-Cardona. Cauchon continued to be a scoring threat as she scored her fourth and final goal of the game in the 84thminute.

 The Badgers outshot the Owls 41-5 for the game.

 GOALKEEPERS

 All three of the Badgers keepers spent time in goal this afternoon.

 Kaitlin Boucher (Barre, Vt.) spent the first 45:00 minutes in goal and collected 4 saves. 

 In the second half Mia Blackwell (Cape Cod, MA) spent 19:12 in goal and Ann Harris played 24:48.
