WSOC: Badgers Overpower Pine Manor, Win 10-0

JOHNSON, Vt — The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer team rolled past Pine Manor College 10-0 in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon at Minaert Field. Kelsey Cauchon (Colchester, VT) scored four goals and tallied one assist to lead the Badgers. 

SCORING

1st Half: Cauchon scored two unassisted goals within the first 11 minutes of the game to push the Badgers (7-5, 2-2 NAC) to an early 2-0 lead. Cauchon tallied her third goal on the day off an assist by Dezirae Youngman (Jericho, VT). Junior Christina Wheelock (Eden, VT) added two goals of her own off assists by freshman Lindsay Sanchez-Cardona (Stamford, CT) in the 20th minute to extend the lead to 5-0. Three minutes later, Sanchez-Cardona added two more goals for the Badgers. Freshman Jordan Pelland (Jericho, VT) found the back of the net in the 39th minute of play to give Johnson an 8-0 lead entering halftime. 

2nd Half: Youngman powered in a goal of her own off a pass by Cauchon in the 54th minute. Cauchon notched her fourth goal of the match in the 85th minute off a pass by Youngman, giving a final score of 10-0.
