Badgers Lose to Trailblazers 3-1

NORTH ADAMS, MA- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer team were edged by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Tuesday evening. With the loss the Badgers fall to 7-6 on the season.

 The Badgers got down early in the contest and could never recover. MCLA scored early in the 7thminute of the game. Kayla Baker who assisted on the first goal of the game quickly scored the second goal of the game and her first of the day. The second goal was scored in the 13thminute of play. The Badgers worked hard to put the ball in the back of the net but could not find any opportunity. The Badgers only recorded 2 shots in the first half while the Trailblazers had 16 shots. In the final minute of the first half MCLA capitalized on their third goal of the game to give them a 3-0 lead going into halftime. 

 In the second half the story was similar as MCLA recorded 12 shots and the Badgers recorded 2 shots. Kelsey Cauchon (Colchester,Vt.) capitalized on a goal for the Badgers in the 90thminute of play but it wasn't enough as the Badgers fell to MCLA by a score of 3-1.

Kaitlin Boucher (Barre,Vt.) and Mia Blackwell (Cape Cod, MA.) split time in goal each playing 45:00. Boucher and Harris both collected 4 saves.
