JOHNSON, VT — The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer team was defeated 3-1 by SUNY Canton in their regular season finale at Mineart Field. Freshman Dezirae Youngman (Jericho, VT) scored the lone goal for the Badgers.
SCORING
1st Half: SUNY Canton found the back of the net first off an unassisted goal by Sarah Riedel in the 26th minute of action. 16 minutes later, her teammate Erica Bertolone scored to put the Kangaroos up 2-0 entering halftime.
2nd Half: After over 40 minutes without scoring, Youngman powered in a goal to narrow Canton's lead to 2-1. It was SUNY Canton's Sarah Riedel who put the game out of reach for the Badgers for good, scoring her second goal of the day and putting the Kangaroos up 3-1 in the 90th minute of action.
