Women's Soccer Announces the Commitment of Lauryn Holsopple for the 2019 Season

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer program and Head Coach Andrew Lafrenz has announced the commitment of Lauryn Holsopple for the 2019 campaign.

Holsopple comes to Northern Vermont University-Johnson from Milton, Vermont and was a product of the Milton High School varsity girls' soccer team. Throughout her career at Milton, Holsopple was a two-time Division II state champion and in her senior season was named to the All-Lake Division Second Team honors. Outside of competing for the Milton Yellow Jackets, Holsopple is currently in her sixth season with Queen City Football Club. Holsopple was named the first QCITYZEN for the club on March 18, 2019. The award is given to an athlete that work with the community and embody the Queen City vision.

"I chose NVU-Johnson because it allowed me to continue to be a well-rounded person playing a sport while also furthering my education. I felt at home on campus and the school offered me what I wanted in my future", said Holsopple. In the classroom Holsopple plan on studying Exercise Science with a pre-med focus.

Excited for her academic experience, Holsopple is eager and equally excited for her time as a Badger on the soccer field. "Playing college soccer has been a goal of mine and I am excited to have the opportunity to make that happen", said Holsopple. "I love how connected the teams seem to be and the spirit that the school has. It appears to be a welcoming and supportive community that I am excited to become a part of".

Head Coach Andrew Lafrenz believes Lauryn will be impactful both on the field and in the classroom when she arrives in the fall. "Lauryn brings the perfect blend of passion for both soccer and academics to our program. We're excited to watch her contribute right away on the field and in the classroom". 

Holsopple believes in the vision that Coach Lafrenz has for the program and believes she can contribute immediately. "I am super excited to be playing for coach Lafrenz. I have had some great discussions with him, he seems to be very enthusiastic and supportive. I am very excited to work towards his goals for the team, and he has a great positive vision for the team's future".

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer program will announce future commitments for the 2019 season in the near future.
