Badgers Outplayed By Bay Path Saturday Afternoon

JAY, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer program faced off in a non-conference match against Bay Path University on Saturday, September 7 at Jay Peak Resort. The Badgers lost the game by a score of 6-0.

SCORING

1st Half: For the majority of the first half the game was back and forth with each team working to find the advantage. Nearly half way through Bay Path's Joanna Feliciano was tackled in the restrictive area rewarding Bay Path a penalty kick to give them the 1-0 advantage. NVU-Johnson worked to even the deficit but could not find an opportunity to score.

2nd Half: It was all Bay Path in the final half of action. D'Astous opened up the half scoring a goal off an assist from teammate Alexandra Silva. Feliciano netted her second goal of the afternoon off an assist from Heaven Rodriquez in the 61stminute. Rodriquez and Bay Path remained in control scoring a few minutes later in the 63rdminute. As the Badgers looked to find an offensive advantage it was strong defense and another goal each from Feliciano and Rodriquez that sealed the game.

Jules Reed and Katrina Chaves both saw time in goal. Reed recorded 14 saves while playing 70:10 minutes. Chaves saved one shot and played 19:50 for the Badgers.
