JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's tennis team fell to Husson University 9-0 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match on Sunday afternoon.
DOUBLES
Husson (4-0, 3-0 NAC) took all three doubles matches over Johnson (2-4, 1-2 NAC). The team of Sam Kershner (Essex, Vt.) and Nicole Monick (Bennington, Vt.) dropped first singles 8-5, while Grace Page (Bennington, Vt.) and Mikayla Messier (Sheldon, Vt.) fell in second doubles 9-7. Ashley Fogg (White River Junction, Vt.) and Sarah Lind (Winooski, Vt.) went down 8-4 in the third doubles match.
SINGLES
Husson swept singles action to take the 9-0 win. Monick dropped first singles in straight 6-2 sets. Page went down 6-1, 6-0 in second singles, while Messier went down in thirds 6-3, 6-2.
Fogg lost fourth singles 6-1, 6-2, while Kershner and Lind lost fifth and sixth singles.
