WTEN: Badgers Pick Up NAC Win Over Lyndon 8-1

JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's tennis team defeated Lyndon State College 8-1 in a North Atlantic Conference match on Thursday afternoon.

DOUBLES

Johnson (3-4, 2-2 NAC) took all three doubles matches, with the third doubles victory coming via forfeit. The team of Kali Covell (Hartford, Vt.) and Nicole Monick (Bennington, Vt.) took first singles 8-2, while Grace Page (Bennington, Vt.) and Mikayla Messier (Sheldon, Vt.) took second doubles 8-1.

SINGLES

Johnson took five of six singles, with Lyndon (0-7, 0-4 NAC) forfeiting the fifth and sixth flights. Monick dropped first singles, taking the match to a super tiebreaker but falling 6-3, 4-6. 10-4. Page took second singles in straight 6-2 sets, while Messier took care of third singles 6-0, 6-1. Covell wrapped thing up in fourth singles, taking straight 6-0 sets.
